Friday afternoon: Andy B and I went to Hungary. It wasn't the first time for us, but we wanted to visit my guests I hosted in Vienna a couple of weeks ago. Anyway, either Budapest changed since 2005 or I visited a different city last time, because I don't remember it being this nice! This time I wasn't going to do a big sightseeing tour like I usually do. We were in a Turkish bath, relaxing in the city, lots of talking, and partying until...
Friday
Friday afternoon, 30 minutes before 18:00, I met Andreas at Wien-Westbahnhof. He just came from school and wasn't sure, if he should come along or not, so he tossed a coin. The adjudication: Go to Budapest :-)
We were traveling by train for about three hours. Our friend Darek, was already waiting at the railway station. As there was a kind of "couchsurfing" meeting Friday night in a Turkish bath, we bought some bathing suit and went to a very cool or I should say very hot bath! It was really amazing! As I had/have a cold at the moment, it was really helpful!
Somewhere in the pool we met Matej again - a friend from Bratislava, but I actually know him from Vienna. He joined my meeting in Bratislava last weekend. Quite fun, because we met each time in a different city Vienna, Bratislava, and now Budapest :-)
We enjoyed the bath until 2:00 in the morning - the bath closes at 4:00 in the morning - but as we were a little bit tired, we went back to Dareks place.
Saturday
We were invited to join a sightseeing tour in the morning, which a Couchsurfing member organized, but neither Andreas nor me could get up before 10:30...

So we joined them a little bit later. We met them at the Budapest castle in a café. There was also Andrew from USA, Andras from Hungary, a guy from Sweden and a couple from New Zealand.

We were walking a little bit around the castle and took some photos. We were chatting about nearly everything :-)

After visiting the castle, we went down to the parliament and continued to Szent István and theater and so on :-)

Saturday night
We met Darek again in the afternoon and went to Niki's place. We made a kind of "warm up" in her flat! It was really fun :-) Another couchsurfer came and picked us up.

We were invited to a housewarming party somewhere in Budapest - Matej was also at this party. I have no idea where it actually was, but the party was a great one.

Katy and ??
As we had so much fun, some neighbors got angry! I think it was sometime between four and six o'clock in the morning, when suddenly eight policemen came. Four of them were waiting in front of the door, four of them entered the flat (without any permission). As I had fallen asleep on the couch for a couple of minutes, one of the policemen woke me up, when his flashlight was shining directly into my eyes! A kind of strange experience!
We had to leave the flat, because the police crashed the party. Nevertheless, I had so many interesting conversations and made so many new friends, it was great!
Sunday
We got up around 12:00. We had a date with Niki and Matej for lunch. So we went to a nice restaurant.
Not everyone was fit enough...
... some of them had a hangover :-)
And some of them didn't ;-)
Matej had to leave earlier because he had to catch his bus to Bratislava. Andy, Darek and myself went to a café for a while.
Going back home
Around 17:00 we went back home to Vienna...
